Super Oatmeal

Hi my name is Jill, and I am hitting one of those things called a writing block. I read something I write down and then immediately and audibly say, "Blah! No!"

It's a good thing this is my own personal blog and not grad school or I would be in a world of hurt.

Well, all you student out there... grad and alike.... I've got something that just might be your secret weapon.

Its called Super Oatmeal!!!!

This oatmeal is not like instant oatmeal that's all soupy, runny and terrible. No! It's good and full of nutrition so that you can start your day with a skip to your step and your brain just-a ready to absorb knowledge.

"What is in this magical oatmeal?" you ask.

Nothing short of pure awesomeness! There is oatmeal (duh), pepitos, chia seeds, cinnamon, and wee bit of brown sugar just so you know that I love you.... I heard a rumor that there is even pixie dust in this meal! Amazing!   (Sincerely Jill claims no responsibility for content (or lack there of) of pixie dust)

Don't be thick.  Go make this, quick (sorry, had to do it)!

***announcer voice ends***

Writing block over. That makes me happy.

Super Oatmeal

makes 2

  • 1 cup rolled oats (use gluten-free variety if needed)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (you can use water if you need to, but milk tastes better)
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup pepitos
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • Dash (or two!) of Cinnamon
In a small saucepan, heat your milk until it comes to a simmer.  Add oats and stir regularly until most of the milk is absorbed into the oats, about 7-10 minutes.  Divide the oatmeal between two bowls.  Add 1/4 cup of the pepitos, 1/2 tablespoon of chia seeds, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar and dash of cinnamon to each of the bowls. Stir and Enjoy!
